U14: Slovaks beat Czechs again

The Slovak U14 team had a much better start to the game than in the morning and grabbed the lead in the 4th minute. Two more quick goals from Guzman and Ucnik gave the young Slovaks a more comfortable lead. When Domonkos scored on a power play at the end of the period, the game seemed out of the Czechs' reach. But they did not quit and got two goals from Simic and Koudela to start the second period. A few minutes later, they trailed by just one goal when Pachner scored. But Slovakia had the last word in the period thanks to Sháněl’s goal. In the third period, the only goal came from Ondik, who gave his team a three-goal victory over the Czechs.

COACHES´ REACTIONS

Adam Krivda (SVK): "We managed the second match perfectly as well, it was challenging. Several levels above our first-tier league in this category. For the boys, a match within the World Junior Championship tournament can be a great motivation."

Jakub Kotek (CZE): „Feelings after the game are not good, because we lost again. First period was terrible on our part, we conceded four goals and did not produce anything. We hyped up the boys for the second period, they scored two express goals and we managed to get one more and we were better team in this part of the game. Sadly, we made another big mistake in the dying seconds of the period and conceded again. In third period, the game was even, but Slovaks showed more quality and deserved their victory. I have to congratulate them.“
