Czechia Red victorious against countrymen

The first game of the U16 category was played between two Czech teams – Red and White. In the first period, both teams had several chances but the goalies kept their nets shut. The momentum changed in the second period with two quick goals by the Red Team, scored by Schnaubelt and Tichy. The Whites responded quickly thanks to Martinu's effort, but the Reds ended the second period on a high note with strikes by Grof and Kupka. At the beginning of the third period, the White Team narrowed the margin by one thanks to Koch but was unable to score any more. The Czech U18 derby ended victoriously for the Reds who beat their fellow countrymen 4-2.

COACHES´ REACTIONS

Pavel Stefka (CZR): „It was a nervous game. White team wanted to show their skills, which we anticipated. At times things got too heated, otherwise the game was ok, but there were some situations, that were needlesly escalated. I have a little bit mixed feelings.“

Jakub Mokriz (CZW): „It was a tough game, playing against our countrymen. In the end, the game got too heated, but we managed to keep it under control. We should act more as a partners.“
