Red Czechs win over Hungary, but injuries worry coach

The Czech U16 Red team entered Saturday morning's game against Hungary as the clear favorite, and they confirmed this by scoring two quick goals from Schwach and Chyle. But they did not add any more goals for a while and at the other end, Hungary scored on a power-play thanks to Berta. The Czechs' superiority prevailed, however, with goals from Hasal and Caloun before the end of the second period. At the start of the third, Krasa scored the fifth goal and sealed the fate of the game. Quick goals from Caloun, Chyle and Gelhof made the final score 8-1.

COACHES´ REACTIONS

Pavel Štefka (CZE): „We are glad about the win, it wasn’t easy, Hungarians defended well, we didn’t move as good in first half of the game. But I am getting concerned about more and more injured players in our team. I don’t know full extent of their injuries yet.”

Patrik Kozma (HUN): „We had a specific plan on how we want to play in the first two periods, especially the opening one, and it was very nice to see the guys doing exactly what we wanted from them. Unfortunately, we gave up after a few conceded goals, but we’re looking forward to the tomorrow’s game.“
