Slovakia U16s finish group stage with perfect record

Slovakia beat Czechia White 4-1 to finish the group stage with a perfect record and advance to Sunday's final. Slovakia took the lead in the seventh minute when Róbert Krajňák converted Kořínek's pass for the first period's only goal. The Slovaks added another goal by Adam Alföldy just 98 seconds into the second period, followed by a third goal by Matúš Siakeľ in the 19th minute. The Czechs team tried to get some offense going but were not able to while the score was still close and, late in the middle frame, Alföldy's second of the game made it 4-0. The Czechs opened the third period with a power-play goal by Josef Flechtner, but that's as close as they were able to get.

COACHES´ REACTIONS

Filip Cervinka (CZE): ""After a demanding schedule and only a four-hour break between games, I am satisfied with my team's performance. It's a pity that we definitively lost our strength in the second period and defended poorly. The home team played it skillfully, scored three goals, and after that, there wasn't much we could do."

Robert Alföldy (SVK): "Once again, we started the game excellently, just like in all the matches of this championship. It's true that the beginning was a bit more nervous, but we endured the penalty and scored a goal that calmed us down. The second period decided the outcome of the entire duel. Today, given the demanding schedule, we gave a chance to several players who had played less before, so that some players could rest. We saw an interesting game and we are really looking forward to tomorrow."
