USA beats Switzerland in one-sided game 9-0

Team USA quickly started the game against Switzerland and took the lead 21 seconds in, thanks to Stocklin. Lammi added another goal in the third minute and increased the lead to two goals. The Americans kept the Swiss in their own half of the rink - the Swiss didn't get their first shot on Minchin until the 10th minute. The Americans continued to press and Stocklin's second goal made it 3-0 again before the break. In the second period, the Americans managed to score three more goals to put the game away. In the last period, they added three more and won big, 9-0.

Nicolas Van Orsouw (SUI): “The expectation for the game was really low. We know that Team USA is the top squad in this tournament. We have the worst start in this match which would be possible. We received the first goal after 20 seconds. After the hit moment, we were better, but we received the second goal, called time-out. The defense was stable, but the US guys are so incredibly fast. It is hard to see the difference between these two nations.”

Willie McKeen (USA): "Good result, main reason for it was shooting the ball, we have to shoot the ball and then the score goes. In tournament where everybody´s talented, if you don´t get shot on you´re not gonna score. I´m very happy with guys doing that, good game for us."
